Abstract
Designs using advanced low power techniques like Multi-
Supply Multi-Voltage and Power Shutoff bring with them a
new set of challenges that manufacturing test must deal
with carefully.
1. Introduction
Advanced low power techniques such as Multiple Supply
Voltages (MSV), Power Shutoff (PSO) and Dynamic and
Adaptive Voltage Frequency Scaling (DVFS and AVS) [1-
3] use some key building blocks:
Figure 1 illustrates these key structures referred hereafter
as low power (LP) components

Isolation cells are needed to prevent unknown signals
originating from a power domain that is powered down
from propagating to a power domain that is powered on.
Figure 1 shows a single Power Switch controlling power to
domain A.
